M.C. Escher, the renowned Dutch graphic artist, passed away on March 27, 1972, at the age of 73. He died in a care facility in Laren, Netherlands, where he had been living due to declining health. His death was the result of natural causes, compounded by his long-term struggle with illnesses, including cancer. Despite his health challenges, Escher continued to work on his art well into his later years, leaving behind a legacy of mathematically inspired and visually captivating works. His collection of original prints were then locked into a 15 year trust.
